The National Birth Equity Collaborative (NBEC), is one of the leading organizations on the front lines of the Black maternal health and infant mortality crises working to produce better birthing outcomes for Black mamas and their babies.

Founded in 2015 by Dr. Joia Crear-Perry, NBEC creates transnational solutions that optimize Black maternal, infant, sexual and reproductive wellbeing. We shift systems and culture through training, research, technical assistance, policy, advocacy, & community-centered collaboration. Our vision is that all Black mamas, their babies, and their villages thrive.

Our intent with this platform is to create a space where we can regularly share our research and findings, explore developing ideas, and ignite thoughtful dialogue around the issues and policies that most directly impact Black birthing people.
